UV Krishnam Raju passes away at 83

Popular actor UV Krishnam Raju (83) passed away this morning(sep 11) due to cardiac arrest.

He was suffering from illness for some time.

He reportedly breathed his last at 3.25 am in the midnight while undergoing treatment at the AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju was born on 20th January 1940 in Mogalthur, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.

He entered the film industry as a lead actor in 1966 with the film ‘Chilaka Gorinka’, he is also very popular for his negative roles.

He won Rashtrapati awards for Best acting in 1977, 1978 and Nandi awards for the years 1977 and 1984.

He received 4 Filmfare awards for his performances in ‘Amaradeepam'(1977), ‘Bobbili Brahmanna'(1984), ‘Tandra Paparayudu'(1986) and ‘Dharmaatmudu'(1983).

 In 2006, he received the Filmfare South Lifetime Achievement Award.

Krishnam Raju is survived by his wife Shyamaladevi and daughters Sai Praseedha, Sai Prakeerti and Sai Pradeepti.

The immortal remains of the actor will be reportedly brought to his residence after 12:00 noon and the funeral will reportedly take place on Monday afternoon.
